A Christian exorcist arrested to outrage religious feelings of Muslims

Sargodha: On October 8, 2015,A Christian exorcist namely Naveed John, 24 years old is accused of outraging religious feelings of Muslims and registered an FIR No.619/2015 is Under Section 295 - A PPC at Police Station Satellite Town, Sargodha. The victim was arrested and sent to district jail Sargodha. 

According to the facts, a Christian Exorcist of 24 years old , namely Naveed John of Marriam Colony,Satellite Town, Sargodha was an illiterate and practicing exorcism through prayers. He has a number of followers who visit him often for their spiritual problems. A few days ago, one of his Muslim follower gifted and presented him an antique sword on which Holy Verses of Quran were printed.He kept it in his room where he used to practice exorcist. 
Muhammad Naeem a police constable is complainant of this case and he alleged accusation against Naveed that he placed the sword ,on which the Quranic Verses inscribed,under his feet and leg and in this way he deliberately and maliciously acted to outrage religious feelings of Muslims and there is apprehensions of public disorder in the society.

According to sources,family of the victim is under high threats after this incident. Our Colleague Naveed Chaudhary Advocate has rescued the family and transfer them to some safe home and taking it legally.  

Sardar Mushtaq Gill,Human Rights Defender,who heads LEAD, he is actively defending victims of such false accusation of blasphemy allegations.He said that Pakistan’s blasphemy laws foster an environment of intolerance and impunity, and lead to violations of a broad range of human rights, including the obvious rights to freedom of expression and freedom of religion, as well as freedom from arbitrary arrest and detention; the right to due process and a fair trial; freedom from torture and cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment; and the right to life and security of the person.Christians are easy victim of these laws.
