LEAD with family of blasphemy convicted Sajjad Masih Gill visit him in central jail Sahiwal


SAHIWAL: Today 26 November,2015 ,Sardar Mushtaq Gill,Human Rights Defender along with Ch.Javed Sohotra Advocate,Pastor Simon Peter,Seventh Day Adventist Church and family of Sajjad Masih Gill,blasphemy convicted,including his mother Bashiran Bibi,his brothers Pervaiz Masih,Zulifqar Masih and Sarfraz Masih Gill visited Sajjad in Central Jail Sahiwal and spent with him about one hour.` 

Family of Sajjad told him that the first hearing in his appeal case has been fixed for 7 December and they also told him that Sardar Mushtaq Gill has petitioned in the Lahore High Court,Lahore for fixation of earlier hearing in his appeal.
"I am totally innocent in this case and I do not know why I was involved in the blasphemy case but I believe in God that He should provide me justice," said Sajjad,blasphemy convicted. 

"I pray day and night for my son (Sajjad Masih Gill) freedom from prison because I know he is not guilty," said Bashiran Bibi,a widow.

Sardar Mushtaq Gill,Human Rights Defender asked Sajjad what do he thinks about his family sufferings after this blasphemy allegation.

Sajjad added he knew that his family had been in suffering for four years and still in sufferings.

Mr.Gill asked Sajjad if he would have any request for international community.

He further added that he requested for prayers for his acquittal and for his family safety because he has faith in prayers particularly spending four years in imprisonment in spite of being innocent.He said he is thankful for Mr.Gill and LEAD who are struggling for justice for him.

The Christian Sajjad Masih Gill,31, was accused of sending blasphemous texts and sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs.200,000/- (About $ 2000 US) for blasphemy on July 13,2013 in Gojra and now the first hearing in his appeal case has been fixed for December 7,2015 in the Lahore High Court,Lahore.
