The first hearing in the appeal case of blasphemy convicted Sajjad Masih Gill fixed


LAHORE: The first hearing in the appeal case of blasphemy convicted Sajjad Masih Gill fixed for December 7,2015 in the Lahore High Court,Lahore.

The LEAD-Legal Evangelical Association Development has filed a petition in Lahore High Court for to hear the appeal against the conviction which is pending before the August Court and the petition was accepted and first date of hearing has been fixed.
The Christian Sajjad Masih Gill,31, was accused of sending blasphemous texts and sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs.200,000/- (About $ 2000 US) for blasphemy on July 13,2013 in Gojra.


The mother,Bashiran Bibi, of Sajjad requested Sardar Mushtaq Gill,Human Rights Defender for early fixation of hearing in the appeal and wished to see his son's freedom from prison.Gill told Sajjad's mother that LEAD was not in capacity to support financially the victim family but provide free legal assistance in the blasphemy case on this she responded  that they would not prefer money over freedom of her son.
