LAHORE: The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court ordered on May 5 to District Police Officer Kasur (DPO Kasur) to get appeared in the court on mext hearing Mst.Fareeha Adrees,a local TV anchor who conducted a TV interview of the victim family of Shahzad and Shama , a Christian couple who burned alive after a false allegation of blasphemy.The cd copy of the interview already filed in the court by defense lawyers of the accused and the anchor has been summoned for cross-examination regarding the interview.
The only legal heirs Shahzad's brothers and nephews who are also eye witnesses of the Kot Radha Kishan lynching case have right to engage lawyers in trial and they have requested LEAD to give them legal assistance hence on their behalf LEAD's legal penal consisting of Mr.Aric John advocate,Mr.Kashif Allexander Rajpoot advocate ,Mr.Salvance Jacob advocate and Mr.Sardar Mushtaq Gill head of LEAD are only leading lawyers in this trial case who have submitted theirs power of attorney in trial after coming to know that prime suspect got released on bail due to non appearing and negligence of lawyers and now legal heirs of Shahzsd the victim family approached Mr.Gill after being disappointed from previous lawyers engaged in bail.
"It is my faith that The Lord has purposefully got us engage in this case," said Kashif Alexander one of lawyers of legal heirs.
Sardar Mushtaq Gill,human rights defender told to the court that the families of those who were in judicial lockup were still trying to influence and to pressurize the legal heirs witnesses and also requested for security for witnesses and LEAD's lawyers but no fruitful answer was given.The next date of hearing has been fixed for May 9.
