Faith Matters: A Message for the Church

In Pakistan, Christian women face many social, cultural, and economic pressures regarding marriage. In this challenging environment, the Church must lovingly remind believers that marriage is a sacred covenant before God, not merely a social arrangement or a means of security. According to the Gospel, marriage is meant to unite two believers who walk together in faith, prayer, and obedience to Jesus Christ.

Jesus taught that spiritual division leads to destruction, saying, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined” (Matthew 12:25). When a Christian woman enters a marriage where Jesus Christ is not accepted as Lord and Savior, she often faces deep spiritual conflict. In the Pakistan context, this may include loss of freedom to practice her Christian faith, pressure to leave church fellowship, and serious challenges in raising children as Christians.

Jesus also taught that loyalty to Him must come before all other relationships: “Whoever loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me” (Matthew 10:37). This truth is especially important for Christian women who may feel pressured by poverty, fear, or family circumstances to compromise their faith. Christ calls His followers to remain faithful, even when the cost is high.

As a minister and preacher of the Gospel, I witness daily reports and testimonies of Christian women who are pressured or forced to convert to Islam for the sake of marriage. In many cases, after conversion and marriage, these women face mistreatment, loss of dignity, denial of basic rights, and, in some tragic situations, abandonment. These realities are painful and deeply concerning for the Church. They remind us of the urgent need to protect our daughters and sisters through biblical teaching, pastoral care, and strong Christian fellowship.

Jesus said, “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). Christian women in Pakistan are called to protect their identity in Christ and to live as witnesses of the Gospel. Marriage to a non-Christian partner can seriously endanger this calling, particularly regarding worship, baptism of children, church attendance, and freedom to confess Christ openly.

Therefore, the Church lovingly encourages Christian women to seek marriage within the Christian faith, where both husband and wife can pray together, worship freely, and raise their children in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. This guidance is not based on hatred or disrespect toward Muslims or any community, but on obedience to the Gospel and sincere concern for the spiritual safety and future of Christian families.

May God grant wisdom, courage, and protection to every Christian woman in Pakistan. May the Church stand united to support, guide, and defend our daughters and sisters, so they may honor Christ and remain firm in faith.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33).

Blessings of Christ be upon you,
