Break-in and theft of households belongings and equipments at home of human rights defender

KASUR: Break-in and theft of households belongings and equipments at home of human rights defender Sardar Mushtaq Gill. He and members of LEAD recently were warned and threaten a group of unidentified persons,hired by a young man involved in forced conversion to Islam and forced marriage a case he is working on,was planning to "punish and teach a lesson" him and his family for his group's activism on the issue of forced conversion of Christian girls to Islam for marriages and asexual violence.

On 11 February, 2016 at about midnight home of Human Rights Defender Sardar Mushtaq Gill had been broken into and looted by a group of unidentified persons, which caused damage to the main entrance and household belongings were looted.The incident of theft is happened while his wife was admitted in Zandagi Meternity Home and Family Clinic Township,Lahore for her delivery case and no one at home.
Gill said the ‘thieves’ took away with desktop computer, scanner, printer , iron , LCD TV, digital camera ,clothes ,important files and documents and thieves also damaged CCTV system and took away it too. He also stated that this is the second incident of break-in and theft within three months and first incident of theft happened in November last year.

The complaint of theft against unidentified persons, in Police Station city Phool Nagar, has been filed and now Police is investigating break-in and theft of household belongings and equipments at the home of leading Human Rights Defender Sardar Mushtaq Gill,who heads LEAD an organization which denounces human rights abuses in Pakistan.
