KASUR: Today 20 February,2016,Akbar Ali Rahat,a Muslim Human Rights Defender who heads Muslim Friends Foundation along with rape victim 14 years old girl,Saba Bibi, and her widow mother,Azra Bibi, met Sardar Mushtaq Gill,Human Rights Defender who heads LEAD,the organization which provides free legal assistance and advocacy to poor ,needy and helpless,for free legal assistance.
According to facts,on 28-04-15 at about 12:00 AM a 14/15 years old orphan girl namely Saba was kidnapped by the accused Abdula and Usman from Red Crescent Hospital Dina Naath where her mother was admitted for medical treatment, then latter the victim was hostage by the accused and the accused committed forcibly rape with her turn by turn. The mother of victim lodged an FIR No.172/15 on dated 03-05-15 under section 376 PPC at Police Station Saddar Phool Nagar against rapists.
The Police is reluctant to arrest the culprits because of their political links and some political figures are at their back who wish to save their skin from rape charges.
The victim's mother told Mr.Gill that police were pressuring for compromise. She said police started action against the suspects after some TV channels aired the news and appealed to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for justice.She further said she was wandering here and there for her daughter's justice.
"we belong to a low caste Muslim that's why we are being denied justice and pressurized by the accused and the police.I work as a maid in different homes and earn my livelihood because my husband has been died and we both mother and daughter living alone,"told Azra Bibi mother of rape victim girl.
