A Christian family was beaten and tortured by four Muslim men

PUNJAB:  In the Month of December 2012,Muhammad Imran ,Muhammad Yousaf and two unknown persons abducted and kidnapped 14 years old Rafia Mansha ,a Christian girl, while she was going to fields to pick up raw vegetables with a Muslim lady Zulaikhan BiBi for her family.Muhammad Imran forcibly got married and converted her to Islam.
 The family of Christian girl filed a petition in Family Court Pattoki for jactitation of marriage which was accepted and the family Court passed decree in favor of Rafia Mansha by declaring and ordering that the marriage certificate is forged ,illegal and void.

On dated 5 February 2013,FIR No 79/13 was registered against the culprits but due to not taking any action against the allegedly accused the case FIR NO.79/13 was not proceeded because of the undue influence of the culprits on police.

Today 12 March ,2014,four Muslim armed men,Imran,Boota,Yousaf and Ramzan forcibly entered in the house of Mansha Masih and started beating to him and his wife and daughter for taking revenge of the previous police case,and when Masih informed the concerned Police officials,they raided on the house of the alleged accused and arrested them and also arrested to Masih so that to make the compromise would be easy for them. Rev.Saleem Masih,DS Church of Pakistan informed immediately to Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill,National Director of LEAD and a Human Rights Defender,and requested for legal assistance and due to LEAD’s legal team efforts Mr.Masih was successful to be released from police custody.One complaint application has been also filed in the police station by the victim Christian family but the police is reluctant to take any legal action against the alleged accused.


“We are not here safe and remain always terrified after the happening of previous and this new incident with us,”said Mr.Masih.

He further added that they wished to move from this village but we have no resources to be settled in any other place.

“Our Christian community has to face many problems due to faith and we have to also face intimidation and threats from the culprits while we help our community and sometime they also become our own enemies,”told Gill.

“It is a conspiracy that Hindus and Christians and other minorities should leave Pakistan,” says Gill, a Human Rights Defender. ''As a minority, we feel more and more insecure. It is getting worse day by day and we have to take it serious to stop.''
